Bruce Gomberg, MD

Bruce Gomberg, MD is a board-certified arthroplasty surgeon for over 20 years and Director of the Maine Orthopaedic Review, a post he’s held since 2006. He has a background in aerospace ergonomics and surgical efficiency and is committed to helping the OR team align with the surgical mission.

In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Gomberg is the co-chair of the Small Implant Group for ESSKA, an international group of knee surgeons. He has been published in peer-reviewed journals, has written book chapters, and is currently editing a manual on unicompartmental knee arthroplasty.

In his spare time, Dr. Gomberg enjoys his custom country home, spending time with his children and grandchildren, biking, hiking, and listening to Steely Dan.

Kristina Westbrook, AST

Kristina Westbrook, AST is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine, where she received a Bachelor of Science. She then went on to receive a certification in surgical technology at Maine Medical Center.

She then went on to have a very productive career as the Lead Total Joint surgical technologist at Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine for over a decade. Since 2019, she has been in the orthopaedic implant industry.

In her spare time, Kristina enjoys her children, exploring northern Maine, and watching professional football.

Brian Halavonich Certified Surgical Technologist

Brian Halavonich is a graduate of West Virginia Northern Community College where he received a certificate in Applied Sciences, Surgical Technology. He has been a Certified Surgical Technologist for over 25 years.

Brian traveled as a CST for nearly 9 years, moved to Portland, Maine in 2003, and then worked his way up to Orthopaedic Lead at a major urban hospital. Brian has been with a large private practice since 2022.

In his spare time, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife, playing cornhole and darts. He also enjoys college football, college baseball and all Pittsburgh professional sports.

Dr. Rod Bruno is a board-certified orthopaedic and hand surgeon. He is an expert in non-operative and operative treatment of conditions affecting the upper extremity and hand.

His interest lies in rapid recovery and function, since he is a firm believer that motion is life. He has been a Top Doctor in Hand Surgery since 2017.

In addition to being a high-volume, fast-paced surgeon, Dr. Bruno enjoys 4-wheeling, time with his family, fishing and innovation.
